Kemistry Gem is a strange anomaly for Discovery -
because I still haven’t quite discovered what Kemistry Gem is, or who for that
matter. There's not enough information out there for me to build enough
research, though I feel this was the intention. I'm under the impression it's
the early work of Phoenix, AZ singer-songwriter Jake Tipton. Others may or may
not be involved - I do know Tipton leads the way in another, Phoenix, AZ artist called HM-12. Different styles, different feels.
"Peeping Tom" was a very random selection from a very random bunch of tracks from Kemistry Gem's Soundcloud. It just caught my ear, that's it really. I like it when music catches me off guard, or I hear something I’m not expecting. For such low listens and anonymity, "Peeping Tom" likewise Tipton and his Kemistry Gem project are underrated, and underrepresented in the D.I.Y community. Thus is the reason for a lack of exposure, and a lack of promotion - both somewhat foreign concepts, or at least, unnecessary for people that actually give a crap about creating music - Tipton being a prime example of this. On "Peeping Tom" Tipton and (maybe) co bring back a 90s lo-fi vibe with a unique electric guitar tab with varying tempos that apply to all instruments. "Peeping Tom" would be Clinic for Clinic fans that don't like Can.
